PPL Electric Utilities is a provider of electric power service which can mostly be found in the states of Pennsylvania and Montana, though there are some customers who receive their service in Kentucky and Great Britain of all places. They have now been in business for almost a century and are well known as a fairly reputable company.
If you are a PPL customer and you would like to make a payment toward your account balance, you may do so through a number of available options, which you can complete by following the directions written below.
PPL Electric Utilities offers its customers easy access to their accounts online, which is also one of the more popular ways to submit a bill payment to the company. However, before you can actually get your payments set up, you are going to need to create your online profile with PPL, which will give you a login user name and password to sign in with. To set up your login credentials as such, you are going to have to go to the www.PPLelectric.com/ecl page where you will be asked to go through a series of forms to get everything set up and linked to your utility account as well as create your account’s user name and password for online access.
Once your online access has been set up properly, head over to the company’s homepage at www.pplelectric.com and enter the user name and password that you chose during the account creation in the fields provided at the right side of the screen. After entering them, click the Sign In button. Also, if you would like your user name to be saved to this area, you can click the check box where it says “Remember Me” next to the sign in button.
After logging in and you are at your account dashboard, go to the payment area to submit your bill pay transaction. Simply follow the directions given by the website to complete the payment.
Automatic Bill Payment
If you would prefer to set up an automatic payment plan with PPL Electric Utilities, you can do so by following the directions in the previous bill pay option (online payments) to sign in and then go to the Automatic Bill Payment service area that you will see when logged into your PPL account online. When you set up an automatic payment with PPL, always be sure that your bank account or any other account that you choose to be automatically withdrawn from has available funds at the time of payment every month, otherwise you may be charged fees or penalties for having the payment not go through properly or simply because you might forget to manually make the payment otherwise and then get charged a late payment fee.
Pay over the Phone
You can make a payment over the phone on your PPL Electric Utilities bill by getting on contact with the BillMatrix service, which can be reached by dialing (800) 672-2413. You will be able to pay using either a credit card or a debit card when calling BillMatrix, however, you will also be charged a $3.95 processing fee. As there is a fee associated with using BillMatrix, we at About Bill Payment only recommend using this as a payment method if you have no other option available to you and the bill must be paid immediately.
Pay Your Bill through the Mail
For those of you who would like to make a payment through the mail but seem to have misplaced your return envelope for your PPL Electric Utilities payment, you can still send a check or a money order made out to PPL with your account number written on it to the following address:
PPL Electric Utilities
PO Box 25239
Lehigh Valley, PA 18002-5239
When making a payment through the mail, make sure to send out the check or money order at least five business days before the invoice is due to ensure PPL receives it on time.
Make a Payment In Person
To make a payment in person on your bill with PPL, which is the only way you can actually use cash to pay toward your bill, you will have to go to a PPL Payment Center and submit it there. Take note, though, that if you choose to make a payment using this method, you will be charged a $1.50 processing fee.
PPL Overdue Payment Arrangements
If you are late on your PPL Electric Utilities bill payment, the company has a system set up to help you through the problem. They’ll help you pay overdue bills, set up a payment plan, restart previous plans and more. If you would like to use this feature, go to the PPL Payment Assistance page for more information to sign up for it or to contact them with any questions you might have.
