As there are a number of services offered by the Texas Department of Public Safety, there are a number of reasons you may owe them money, but it generally has to do with driver’s license services. Continue reading to find out how you can make a payment on any money owed to them.
Option 1: Online Payments for Texas Department of Public Safety
To make an online payment for what you owe to the Texas Department of Public Safety, you will not be required to create an online account with the government entity. However, you will need to have your driver’s license readily available to log in to the site to submit your payment. When you are ready to pay your bill and you have the card available, you can pay your bill by following these steps:
- Go to the www.txsurchargeonline.com payment website
- Click the link in the first bullet point that says “Online Services”
- Fill in the fields as requested. These include your driver’s license or ID number, your date of birth, your last name and the zip code for your address
- Click the “Login” button
- Choose to make a payment on the service that you owe for
- Enter your billing information
- Submit the transaction and agree to the details
Option 2: Make a Texas Department of Public Safety Payment over the Phone
For those of you who would like to make a payment on your account with the Texas Department of Public Safety over the phone, that is an available choice as well. To submit your owed bill payment with them using this method, you will have to call the phone number (800) 688-6882. The automated system offered by Texas for their Dept. of Public Safety is available 24 hours a day for every day of the week, and that includes weekends. When paying your bill over the phone, you will be able to use a variety of different types of payment sources, including money market accounts, savings accounts, checking accounts, debit cards or credit cards. If you would like to submit your bill pay transaction over the phone while speaking to a program specialist with the organization, you will be able to do just that by calling the number above between Monday through Thursday from 8 am until 9 pm, on Fridays from 8 am until 6 pm and on Saturdays between the hours of 8 am and noon. Program specialists are not available on Sundays or the following holidays: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
